2011 Entrepreneur of the Year
Chairman Roy MacGregor was named Entrepreneur of the Year in recognition of the entrepreneurial spirit he has shown throughout his lifetime, the top honour in the annual Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise. The prestigious awards, sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland, are organised by Enterprise North East Trust, Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council.
2010 Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100
The Global Energy Group was ranked 53rd in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100. The authoritative league table ranked the UK’s 100 privately-owned companies with the fastest growing sales over a three year period to 2010.
2010 Best International Business
The Global Energy Group was named the 2010 Clydesdale Bank Best International Business in Scotland’s International Awards, organised by the Scottish Council for Development and Industry. The award was presented by former Mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani at a ceremony in Glasgow.
2010 Sunday Times HSBC International Track 100
In 2010, the Global Energy Group topped the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 100 league table of the UK’s private companies with the fastest growing international sales. The league table ranked 100 companies by growth in international sales over a two year period.
2010 Director of the Year Award
Global Energy Group director Iain MacGregor was honoured with two titles in the 2010 Institute of Directors (Scotland) Awards. Iain won the emerging director award and the Highlands and Islands Enterprise regional director award.
2010 Best Performing Scottish Company
The Global Energy Group was Scotland’s best performing company in the 2010 Sunday Times PricewaterhouseCoopers Profit Track 100 and placed 18th in the UK. The league table ranked Britain's 100 private companies with the fastest-growing profits.
2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Global Energy Group chairman Roy MacGregor was named a regional winner in the prestigious Ernst & Young Scotland Entrepreneur of the Year awards in 2009. The judging panel highlighted the emphasis Roy places on developing the skills of group employees and praised his vision and strategic approach to business.
